You're Gonna Miss Me

from The Poison And The Cure by WispR

/

about

I finished this recording on Christmas Eve 2015.

Gavin had the progression and the title. I expanded on it, and added detail. We wrote the song in his kitchen for the most part. I sort of had a Tracy Chapman sound in mind, mixed with some old soul stuff. I didn't think that it would be for me to perform at first, but now it feels real natural for me.

lyrics

YOU'RE GONNA MISS ME

You'll be knockin' at my door
But I won't answer
I know
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone

You'll be callin' out my name
But I won't be there
I know
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone

You know that you've hurt me
But you won't even try to treat me right
You're gonna cry every day
When I'm away
Girl, if I leave
You're gonna miss me
When I'm gone

You'll be lookin' for my love
When you feel lonely
I know
You're gonna miss me when I'm gone

You know that you've hurt me
But you won't even try to treat me right
You're gonna cry every day
When I'm away
Girl, if I leave
You're gonna miss me
When I'm gone

You're gonna cry every day
When I'm away
Girl, if I leave
You're gonna miss me
When I'm gone
